Open Access Policy, Licensing Terms and Copyright

Open access:

Deusto Journal of Human Rights / Revista Deusto de Derechos Humanos (DJHR) is an open access journal, which means that users have free, immediate and permanent online access to the full text of published articles.

Readers may make unrestricted use of the content, meaning that they may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full text of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without seeking prior permission from the publisher or the author; provided that the original work is properly cited and any modifications to it are clearly indicated.

The journal is thus following the declarations of Budapest, Bethesda and Berlin declarations and conforms to the OAI definition of open access.

Licensing Terms:

The licence under which the works are published is Creative Commons ATTRIBUTION/RECOGNITION-NON-COMMERCIAL 4.0 INTERNATIONAL - CC BY-NC 4.0 , whose terms for the use and reuse of the content are:

  • The reader is free to Share - copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • The reader is free to adapt - remix, transform and build upon the material.
  • DJHR cannot revoke these freedoms as long as the reader respects the following conditions:
    • Attribution - Credit should be given appropriately, provide a link to the licence, and indicate if changes have been made. This may be done in any reasonable way, but not in such a way as to suggest that the reader or use is endorsed by the Journal.
    • NonCommercial - The material may not be used for commercial purposes.
    • No additional restrictions - No legal terms or technological measures can be applied that legally restrict others from making any use permitted by the licence.

Copyright:

By submitting their manuscripts to Deusto Journal of Human Rights / Revista Deusto de Derechos Humanos (DJHR), without signing any transfer document, the author transfers, free of charge, to the Publisher (University of Deusto) the rights of distribution, public communication and reproduction of the work submitted for publication in DJHR in any type of medium, now known or developed in the future, for educational and academic purposes, including the transfer for inclusion in the databases in which this journal is indexed and in the institutional repository of the University of Deusto.

The author agrees that the article will be published under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0 licence, if the article is accepted for publication. The licence granted allows the journal to edit and layout the article, which will be included in a future issue and distributed in any online and offline media that the journal deems necessary to promote the article, the authors, and the journal.

The author may make his/her article available for archiving in institutional repositories or on personal websites, with reference and acknowledgement to the source where it was published. He/she may also use a copy of the work to distribute to their students or in a course. He/she may also use his/her publication as a basis for future articles.

Authors are advised to read their rights carefully. We believe that this approach ensures a fair agreement for both parties.
