@article{Lucas_2017, title={Deficits and Falacies of Liberal Democracy in the Light of Management of Diversity: the Case of Migration and Asylum Policies}, url={https://djhr.revistas.deusto.es/article/view/1274}, DOI={10.18543/djhr-1-2016pp15-37}, abstractNote={<p>The legal instruments for migration and asylum policies implemented by the European Union and its member States as part of th<em>e New European Agenda on Migration</em> introduced by the European Commission in May 2015 has turned out to be not only ineffective, but also highly questionable in what concerns their consistency with the protection of Human Rights, the principles of liberal democracy, and even with those of egalitarian liberalism. As the author sees it, the problem derives from the challenges posed by the management of cultural diversity (especially, <em>deep diversity</em>).
